On Saturday the 25th the camp came together and had a great time cleaning up Old City Cemetery and the surrounding streets. Keeping up with one of the camps oldest traditions and doing our part in the Keeping Jacksonville Beautiful Program. We had a great turn out and got a lot completed. As usual we walked around picking up the trash and made sure all was in order. John Ruff and John Carson have kept our plot there pristine and truly the gem of the cemetery.
Some of the trees in the cemetery need to be trimmed as they were blocking the view of the cemetery and needed to be chopped off, also trimmed up a lot of the bushes around the cemetery. The work is not done and next month we will come back and try to get the rest. The more that come out the more we can do and we truly appreciate all that came out and made this a good time. Also, again the Martha Reid chapter UDC came out and helped with the plot as well, truly a good time.
Next Cemetery Work day will be September 22nd at 8:30am at Old City Cemetery, please bring work gloves and a trash grabber if you have one.
