2014 National SCV Reunion
Seventeen members of Kirby=Smith Camp #1209 traveled to Charleston for the National Sons of Confederate Veterans Reunion held on July 17th – 19th. The camp made it clear that it is the largest camp with our large showing.
Members attended the business meetings where elections were held for the National officers. After the meetings, members visited several attractions around Charleston including downtown Charleston, the UDC Confederate Museum, the H.L. Hunley Lab where the submarine is being restored and Magnolia Cemetery where the three crews of the Hunley are buried. On Friday night, Kirby-Smith held its 4th anunal Soiree which was very well attended. Refreshments and entertainment were provided.
It was a great time for all the members who attended. I would encourage all to make plans to attend next year’s event in Richmond, Virginia.
